Aja: Only Time Will Tell

ANN ARBOR– Players and coaches were mystified Monday night upon hearing that Nick Aja received a delay of game penalty, constituting his fourth foul of the game, resulting in an ejection and potential one-game suspension following Ruination’s 5-6 loss to the A2 Blazers.

“The ref told us that he had no choice but to call Nick for a delay of game because he pinned the puck against the boards,” said teammate Rick Winowiecki.

Referring to it as “baffling,” the players struggled to understand the play. According to sources close to the boards, Aja stopped the puck from advancing by holding it against the boards as the second period closed. Referee and part-time meth deal Walter White charged Aja with a delay of game– his fourth penalty– and ejected him from the ice.

“Hey, in this game, things happen fast. You have to be ready to react, or things can blow up in your face,” said White.

It was not clear of which profession White was speaking.

Jordan Swift and Tim Bredernitz each finished with two goals, while Dexter Benda had a goal and an assist as Ruination’s bid to comeback came up short.

GM Mark Woods said the ruling has been appealed, though league directors are unwilling to pass a judgment in the heat of the moment. The only question remaining regards Aja and whether or not he will return for Thursday night’s game… or if anyone gets the musical references.
