Meet, Shoots, & Leafs

ANN ARBOR–Ashley’s Aventinus added its fifth tie of the season after skating to a 1-1 final with the Leafs Wednesday night. Following a  power play goal by Leaf Kyle Ellsworth, center Chris Sutton took the pass from Ginny Klinesteker to knot it up late in the second period.

“I think I may be bad luck for the team,” said defenseman Mark Woods. “Seems like we always skate to a tie when I play.”

While not entirely true, the team has racked up five ties this season, nearly a third of the games.

Despite the result, the team seemed generally positive with the outcome. “That was a great game,” said winger Dave Ferguson. “I wish we could have overtime.”

The team faces Barracuda Sunday and finishes the season next Wednesday with Goon Squad. The team is currently in third place, trailing the Leafs by four points.
