Matt et al. Dominate Bears

ANN ARBOR–Matt Schaefer has seamlessly moved from dominating in the Tier I league to dominating in C League along with his new cohorts. Schaefer had a goal and three assists, including two within 0:49 seconds of each other, as the Ruination (9-5) cruised to a 7-3 victory over the Black Bears Saturday night.

Defenseman Brett Vogel also put in a command performance with two goals and an assist, along with some tenacious defense.

“That was better,” said goaltender Rusty Barron, who rebounded from a tough loss last Tuesday. Barron improved with each period, shutting out the Bears in the third.

Defenseman Jason Spence, back from a 3-game suspension following an altercation with a Goon Squad member, had a goal and assist, as did center Nathan Greenman. Speculation over who Greenman resembles ranged from one of the brothers from “The Walking Dead” TV series, to Ryan Stiles from “Whose Line Is It, Anyway,” to David Lowery, lead singer for the alternative 90s band Cracker, famous for their song “Low.”

“I love Thin Lizzy,” responded Greenman.

Looking at the Internet Movie Database, it could not be determined which character on The Walking Dead resembled Greenman, but winger Josh Pohlmann– who had a goal for the night– did note that the show was his favorite.

Devin Collingridge had two assists, and Defensemen Al Johnson and Mark Woods also had an assist each for the night.
