A Boulter Lightning

ANN ARBOR–Chris “Insane” Boulter shot out of nowhere Sunday night, striking early and often as Aventinus ran past the Goaldiggers 6-4 on Olympic Ice.

“He was like a Jamaican sprinter on skates,” said an excited GM Mark Woods, “Only a bit paler… and probably weighing more.”

“And slower… and on ice… and probably not making anything near as much in endorsements,” added Woods.

Ironically enough, Boulter’s representatives, the so-called Beer League Players Union, notified the GM earlier Sunday afternoon that they had agreed to terms for Fall 2013, noting that they were confident he would get back to his “fighting weight” of 215lbs. “His injured hip is almost fully healed, which should make him faster,” the BLPU official said, but added, “not much.”

It was enough however, to earn his first hat trick of the season, overshadowing other great performances for the evening, including 2 goals and 2 assists from Chris Sutton, a goal and two assists from defenseman Mark Woods, and three assists from Joe Crossno.

Boulter, known for getting off the starting blocks a bit slow, has made up a lot of ground in a short time. The team and fans fully expect to see this kind of production the rest of the way through the championships.
