Aventinus Loss Blamed on Korean Car Manufacturer

SOUTHFIELD– Ashley’s Aventinus had its 10-game unbeaten streak end Wednesday night, losing 1-2 to the Ice-o-topes, and leaving the team looking for answers. Defenseman Ron Coleman suggested that the opposing team has “beefed up their line-up,” while others have blamed it on the jerseys, whether on the size of the jerseys or the so-called “Curse of the Black Jerseys,” which has been slated as the working title for the sixth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise due out in 2017.

“We can blame it on many things,” said GM Mark Woods, “But wins and losses come down to logistics.”

Said Woods: “I blame this loss on Hyundai (Motor Company).”

Woods explained that he received a call just hours before the game that star winger Virginia “Ginny” Klinesteker would not make it to the game. The reason: car trouble. “Blown head gasket,” stated Klinesteker simply, diagnosing the issue with her Hyundai Coupe.

“Apparently, she was driving to the game after visiting with some friends in a notably rough neighborhood,” explained Woods. “And, you can see the result.”

“She shows up. We win. She doesn’t show up. We lose. Logistics,” repeated Woods solemnly.

When asked why she was in an area known for trouble, Klinesteker became vague, claiming she was driving in from “work.”

“Got off at Eight (Mile Rd) because car was shaking too bad,” reported Klinesteker, refusing to elaborate.

Klinesteker has missed the last two games under suspicious circumstances, such as the recent car trouble and an alleged friend’s wedding in New York. The results are clear: a significant drop in offense (2 goals in 2 games), and 2 game win-less streak.
