PUNTA CHAME– Ashley’s Hopslam had the wind knocked out of them upon hearing news that Justin Bieber has fled Miami and was spotted on a Panama beach with lady friend Chantal Jeffries, who allegedly goaded the 19-year-old pop star into the drag race that lead to his arrest.
“I feel a sharp pain in my ribs, like a punch in the gut,” said defenseman Mark Woods. “How could the Biebs do this to us?”
Last week, Bieber was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence, and driving with an expired license. No sooner released than the pop star was seen with his entourage along the Punta Chame beach, with one of the group members allegedly carrying a “beer bucket.”
“It just hurts,” said Woods. “It’s difficult to breathe.”
Less sympathetic teammates suggested Woods “being such a girl” over the situation. “Put a tampon on it,” said Chris Sutton, referring to Woods’s feelings over the issue. Sutton finished with a goal and an assist. Jim Socha had two goals, but it proved not to be enough as the team fell to the Icemen 3-4.
