Macklemore, Madonna, and Queen Latifah sandwich in less famous performers during the Aventinus ceremony
ANN ARBOR– Prior to the performance of “Same Love” by Macklemore for the 56th Grammy Awards, featuring Madonna and Queen Latifah orchestrating a wedding between 33 couples, the artists engaged in a rehearsal of sorts, performing the same song and ceremony in the Aventinus locker room following the team’s 4-1 win over Barracuda.
“Daryl (Coleman) was pretty much in tears,” noted goaltender Ryan Bidwell, speaking of their newly-found bliss, or perhaps to the beauty of the moment.
“This song is not a love song for some of us but for all of us,” said actress and singer Queen Latifah during a special segment of the song in which she performed the ceremony.
The pairings were mostly random, with teammates being wedded based on proximity. However, noted psychologist and High Priestess of Yonada, Natira asked whimsically, “But is not that the nature of men and women? That the pleasure is in the learning of each other?”

Noted psychologist and high priestess of Yonada, approved the union of teammates despite being a fictional character from a 1960s TV show
Natira also noted this holds true for men and men, and women and women, given the circumstances and the occasion. She would later marry Dr. Leonard McCoy.
“You should have seen Jen and Amy!” exclaimed Ginny Klinesteker, who scored a goal redirecting Justin Baier’s shot.
Nate Greenman, Scott Bray, and Jeff Meden also scored mates (despite already having a lady friend, wife, or fiancee) and goals. Ken Coleman who received a penalty for the game, did not seem upset over the outcome, but was a bit bemused. Uncertain of the logistics, Coleman simply asked, “So, the ankle grabber: does he give or receive?”
Some questions, sources reportedly said to Coleman, will answer themselves.
