ANN ARBOR– Ashley’s Ruination fought back Monday night to tie the series at 1-1 against a tough Black Bears team dedicated to beating boys in red in a 6-4 thriller. “Please win” were the only words of encouragement needed from GM Mark Woods, called away to attend a Monday night seminar titled Chia Pet: Why?

Looking for the winning formula, the team was quick to dismiss scoring more goals (Devin Collingridge (2), Jordan Swift, Sean Payeur, Paul Sholtis, and Andrew Thompson), realizing that such things are mere statistical anomalies. By that reasoning, assists (Swift (2), Jason Spence (2), Sholtis, Payeur, Brian LeFevre) were also discounted.

By a process of elimination, the team quickly determined that the seating arrangement was clearly the catalyst for the victory. Though the conclusion may not have necessarily followed, Woods noted that he felt it was “better than not washing the so-called luck from their gear.” Sources say “luck” is a cocktail comprised of sweat, mildew, a lack of ventilation or shame, and time.

The team faces the Black Bears Tuesday in the decisive Game 3 of the finals.
