No Star Wars Characters at Rink Leads to Disappointing Night

ANN ARBOR– Disappointment was etched clearly on the face of fan Ginny Klinesteker Saturday night upon discovering that a “Star Wars” theme night was not orchestrated by the Ann Arbor Ice Cube for the May 4th celebration that’s been dubbed “May the Fourth Be with You.” Crestfallen, but clearly trying to be supportive of the struggling Hopslam team, Klinesteker managed to watch the team drop a two goal lead to lose 3-6 to the Ice Men.

Klinesteker, a self-proclaimed “huge Star Wars fan,” found that reading a technical manual involving querying Access databases within a proprietary framework for her job helped to pass the time that would have otherwise been spent taking “self-ies” (pictures taken of oneself often with a companion via a cellular phone equipped with a camera) with various actors portraying Star Wars characters.

She did not see Don Restauri score a goal, nor did she see Luke Bell score two goal. She did manage to see defenseman Mark Woods struggle enough to categorize his game as “rough,” but otherwise felt confident that her technical knowledge of running batch queries will help her meet deadlines looming. “I have 15 hours of work if I work straight through,” said Klinesteker. “I’m going to try to get into the office tomorrow.”
