ANN ARBOR– Sources close to Ashley’s Aventinus stated that teammates admitted to each other that the forthcoming week looked “longer” following their 1-6 loss to Yaks 2 Sunday night.
Mondays are tougher to face following Sunday night losses
“It’s common currency,” stated team psychologist Don Shrinkmahead. “Winning provides endorphins that help to numb the thought of the coming work week.”
“Jobs suck,” added Shrinkmahead.
Justin Baier scored the lone goal for Ashley’s early in the second period, with assists from Scott Bray and Tom Colis.
The initial euphoria did not last as the Yaks proceeded to score six unanswered goals. The locker room was understandably grim, as players (who wished to remain unnamed so as not to upset employers) were forced to face the drudgery of the coming work week.
“I have two meetings, a conference call, and a Lean Cuisine that I’m pretty sure is liver and onions,” said one player. “And that only gets me through tomorrow!”
Inexplicably present in nearly every venue, a temp employee for the team looked doleful while saying, “Looks like someone has the case of the Mondays!”
Sources confirmed the unnamed temp was promptly dismissed from the team.
