Moose seemed confused following his victory over Hopslam, neither understanding the basic rules of the game or even the concept of winning or losing.
ANN ARBOR– Ashley’s Hosplam dropped their first game of the season Tuesday, losing 4-5 to Moose. The loss prompted a heated discussion on the character of Moose (formally known as Marmaduke ‘Moose’ Mason). The consensus reached included calling Moose the “least popular character in all of Archie Comics.”
“D’uh, what did I do?” asked a befuddled Moose.
Moose, however, did manage to jump to a quick 2-0 lead within minutes. However, Hopslam battled back with goals from Chris Sutton, David Gaydos, Ryan Williams and Al Juback, to keep the game even through most of the third period.
However, Moose was able to muscle in the fifth goal to secure the win with about 10 minutes in the game, leaving Hopslam somewhat embittered.
As a parting shot, forward brad Johnson (assist) announced that he never liked Archie comics, held a particular disdain for Moose, wished fervently that Midge would break up with Moose, and that “Bloom County is coming back (after a 25-year hiatus),” and is way better than Archie. Johnson did add that he thought both Betty and Veronica were “hot.”
