History records that Amy Cauzillo scored two goals in the third period to beat Ashley’s Ruination 2-4 Tuesday night on Stadium Ice. This, however, baffles many, including defenseman Mark Woods.
“I’m pretty sure the guy– girl– whatever– who scored the empty netter had a beard,” said Woods.
Most of the team members are too young to actually grow beards, except for #13 Cody Shaw. League rules stipulate, however, that team members must be at least eighteen. Handshakes following the game would indicate the the team has at least achieved puberty.
Team doctors have recommended Ruination players wash their hands following the games.
Lost in the controversy is the debut of two new Ruination members: forward Ricky Winowiecki and defenseman Anthony Ciatti, both picked up as Plan B free agents from Beer Belly Brewing. Ciatti noted that salary cap considerations may have led to the decision. “Most of those guys work (a second job) at McDonald’s,” said Ciatti, noting that players often have to supplement their incomes.
Ruination will face Mott Saturday.
