Cryptic Remarks Made For Movie Fans

Ashley’s Ruination (2-3) skated passed Thompson’s Pizza 10-2 Tuesday night on Varsity Ice in a game that was marked by controversy.

“Dirty Pizza,” said defenseman Jason Spence. Thompson’s committed 15 minutes worth of penalties, giving up two power play goals.

Ruination was up 3-1 after the first before scoring five unanswered goals in the second. “Thanks for showing mercy on us,” said Thompson’s Gary Yee dryly.

Allegations that Thompson’s had given up later swirled around the locker room, prompting an angry Steve Gorham to exclaim, “They have an obligation to defend the net!”

That obligation was not met, though Thompson’s put up a brief fight, scoring early in the third period. However, the goals dried up from there, thanks to a defense that frustrated the Thompson’s front line. “I drink your milkshake,” said a defiant Spence, in plain view of the referees.

Though no one said there will be blood, it was clear that Thompson’s took quite a beating this night. Hopefully, that’s just pizza sauce, and both teams can enjoy bowling without incident.
