Blame Game, Aventinus Not Digging Goals Against

ANN ARBOR–Ashley’s Aventinus (8-3-3) lost to the Goaldiggers 1-3, leaving the team to search for reasons.

“The team was real tired,” offered goal-tender Paul Sholtis. “So, we lost.”

“We decided to blame the loss on Daryl (Coleman),” said defenseman Ron Coleman, who later disavowed any familial relationship. “He was confused about the starting time.”

Daryl Coleman arrived late into the first period, allowing the Goaldiggers to build a 2-0 lead. Coleman was just the fifth player to reach the bench.

“We play best when the bench is long,” said Ron Coleman and what she said. “Which we didn’t have.” That was also reportedly what she said.

Still searching for someone or something to blame, the team was offered by league to take Milli Vanilli‘s advice and “blame it on the rain.”

“Blame it on the stars that shine at night,” the song added. “Whatever you do, do put the blame on you.”

“Blame it on the raaaaaiiii-aaaaaa-eeeee-ain,” urged the song.

Aventinus plays North Coast next Wednesday, leaving sons to watch World War II documentaries all Memorial Weekend (and I mean ALL Memorial Day weekend) with his father visiting from Florida. That is, sons will watch while fathers nap through WWII documentaries.

The Military Channel reports a spike in viewership from “about zero to one viewer” according to Nielsen officials.
