Aventinus Turns Over Same Old Leafs

ANN ARBOR–Same teams. Different season. Same results.

Ashley’s Aventinus battled defending champions to a 3-3 tie Wednesday night to remain at .500 for the Summer session. “We were down two early,” reported forward Amy Senne. “It was one to three… no, wait. One to two, two to three, then three to three.”

However, the official score sheet shows Aventinus was down 0-2 at the end of the first period. Center Chris Sutton responded in the second period with two goals to tie it up, and winger Becca Koke grabbed the lead for Aventinus.

The team held the lead for about half of the third period before Leaf Mitchell “Tom” Thumme tied it up. Twelve minutes later, the team was left to wonder what they needed to get a win against their evenly matched rivals.

“I’m pretty sure one more goal would have done the trick,” said GM Mark Woods.
