Bell’s Heir Refuses to Celebrate with Hopslam

ANN ARBOR– For reasons unknown, forward Luke Bell refused to join the Hopslam team for beers at Ashley’s following their 5-3 victory over rival Yaks Saturday night. “I’m already going to be there with a friend,” explained Bell.

However, team members say that Bell was “nowhere to be found.”

Bell, rumored to be the heir to the Bell’s Beer fortune in Kalamzoo, has been unusually quiet since joining the team this Fall, with sources claiming he was upset over the trade that dealt him to the team bearing the name of one of the Bell’s Brand beers. “He felt forced onto this team by his dad,” sources say.

The beer empire’s patriarch, Anikan Bell, allegedly recommended the trade, saying, “It is too late for me, son,” for his own redemptive comeback to beer league hockey. Bell, however, has claimed to “see the good” in him.

In the meantime, teammates can only hope that Bell will not give in to the hate and will join the team for celebratory drinks in the future. Bell has promised to be more involved, but has expressed homesickness, longing for the days of brewing good beer with the family and shooting “womp rats” in his T16.
