ANN ARBOR– Ashley’s Ruination moved to 11-2 Tuesday night after sliding past the Oilers 10-0, earning goaltender Rusty Barron’s second shutout of the season.

“Go Ashley’s!” exclaims an unidentified astronaut during Ruination’s 10-0 win over the Oilers Tuesday
“I think we tried very hard not to be overconfident,” said astronaut Neil Armstrong, mission commander of the Apollo 11 moon landing, reflecting on the win.”Because when you get overconfident, that’s when something snaps up and bites you.”
Brian LeFevre had a stellar performance, scoring three goals in two periods. Brett Vogel, shuttled to forward, had a goal and three assists. Defenseman Jordan Swift added the final goal while dishing out 5 assists.
Despite the score, the team had a few misfires, leading to odd-man rushes. However, Barron was up for the challenge, stopping all shots.
“There’s a need for accepting responsibility,” said Buzz Aldrin, who was in the lunar module on the Apollo 11 mission and the second to step onto the moon’s surface.
By the game’s end, seven different players scored, including goals from Matt Schaefer, Mark Woods, Dexter Benda, and Ricky Winowiecki, who redirected a shot launched by defenseman Anthony Ciatti. “The stars don’t look bigger, but they do look brighter,” said long-time beer league fan Sally Ride, who became the first woman in space following the seventh Space Shuttle mission in 1983.
“I’d say we have a successful Enterprise,” said GM Mark Woods, trying to add to the space-themed article. Woods also pointed out for those too young to remember that Houston, Texas was once the home of the Oilers football franchise, who have since relocated to Nashville as the Tennessee Titans.
