Puckola Scandal Revealed!

ANN ARBOR– Center Scott Coates was recently seen handing an undisclosed sum of money to “someone at the top” of the league’s administrative staff in what is suspected to be a bribery scheme, or “puckola” scandal that has fans questioning the integrity of the game following Hopslam’s 7-1 win over Gates Tuesday night.

According to sources, Coates openly lamented the lack of goals attributed to his play over the course of the Winter season, claiming to have at least one goal scored in the last eight games. Prior to the comments made, Coates reportedly handed an official what was rumored to be approximately $90 in unmarked bills.

“Something seems suspicious,” said GM Mark Woods, who did not attend the game. “Money exchanges hands, and suddenly Scott has two goals on the stat sheet? I don’t like what I see here.”

Added Woods: “And I suppose they were both wrap-around goals, right? Whatevs.”

Chris Sutton added two goals and an assist, while Bernie Bachli, Gary Witt, and Andrew Thompson each had goals.

Officials say they will continue the investigation, but suspect Coates probably “won’t be handing over more cash to anyone in a hurry.”
