Payeur Hands Out Dating Advice

ANN ARBOR– Ashley’s Ruination followed their 7-2 win over Trend Millwork Tuesday night with relationship and dating advice from defenseman and noted “love guru” Sean Payeur. “We all enjoy listening to Sean’s show,” said defenseman Mark Woods. “It’s like listening to Dr. Ruth, but with more cuss words.”

Payeur, visibly giddy following Ruination's 7-2 win, hands out advice to teammates on the art of pitching woo.

“So, I guess it’s really like listening to Howard Stern,” added Woods.

The advice came when defenseman Jordan Swift (goal, 2 assists) noticed Trend Millwork’s Lynn Switaj during the game. Payeur (assist) immediately advised against the pushing and shoving as a method of flirting. “What you have to do is ask her if she knows your plus/minus rating,” advised Payeur, referencing the difference between goals scored for and against a player’s team while on the ice.

“Then, when she says she doesn’t know, you say ‘me neither, but it’s about to go up by plus one,'” finished Payeur.

Payeur then noted that in cases where a player has a poor plus/minus rating, the pick-up line is still somewhat applicable. “(Woods) can say he’s minus 35 instead of minus 36.”

Woods noted that such measurements are a bit unfair due to the sub-zero temperatures that have punished much of the Midwest over the last six weeks. He did however note that the line was “worth a shot, being that Valentine’s Day is coming up and all.”

Payeur then added that should the line not work, one could always take matters into his own “hand.”
