HOLLYWOOD– The stars come out at night, especially when it’s for the Academy Awards, which had no lack of glitter and glamour Sunday night as Aventinus scored five of the awards, including two for veteran Mark Johnston for Best Supporting Left Winger.
Ryan Bidwell earned the shutout, otherwise known in the industry as the “Big O.” Said GM Mark Woods, “We’re all proud Ryan finally got the Big O. It was a long time coming.”
While Jennifer Lawrence was tripped up over the loss after a command performance in “American Hustle,” Tom Colis won the Charlie Hustle award, gathering two assists for the evening.
Other award winner included defenseman Mark Woods (best supporting defenseman in A Goal and Two Assists), Nate Greenman (best original screen), Jeff Meden (best foreign film – the Czech film titled 12 Years a Slav), and country music group The Jen Perry (assist), for their title song “Chosen Frozen by the Dozen.”
Other awards included Best Bruise for Amy Seene (from the motion picture Marcus Welt-by). Hockey critic Kenny Coleman had few words for the evening, but did give an overall jammed thumbs-up.
