Writer Distracted Waiting for Brake Work, Ruination Wins

REDFORD– Ashley’s Ruination fought off a much-improved Trend Millwork team Saturday night to win 5-3, despite the fact that brake pads shouldn’t take over two hours to replace. “Feel free to walk around our show room,” said Carl, the service rep.

The game started with a quick goal by Mill worker Aaron Kramer. However, Shawn Lopez, coming back after “four weeks” on injured reserve with a hobbled ankle, answered back. Al Juback scored six minutes later, to take the lead. A printed statement later stated that the brake pads would cost $326.

Trend Millwork tied the game up early in the second, but once again, Ruination was able to respond as Sean Payeur scored. Lopez and Payeur would score again in the third to keep the lead at two, and leave GM Mark Woods wondering who the sales representative somewhere on the sales floor is who keeps whistling some “stupid tune.”

“Keep it to yourself, songbird,” said an irritated and hungry Woods.

Chris Sutton, Andrew Thompson, Paul Sholtis (2), and John Vella assisted on the goals. Hey, John’s a prosecuting attorney; can I sue for negligence if they are neglecting me over here? I’ve been waiting for like two and a half hours.

Despite the distractions, Ruination has managed to keep on winning. And, I’m pretty sure the car is done. They’re just sitting around and waiting to see how long it takes before I go and ask them what’s taking so long.
