ANN ARBOR- If you can’t take the team to Florida for Spring Break, what is a team to do? Ashley’s Ruination found themselves asking that very question following their 3-3 tie with the Cleveland Steamers Saturday night. The answer came from a canned response:
Bud Light Lime.
“Try it,” urged spokesman Ricky Tikki Tembo-no Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo Wino-wiecki (Vin-oh-vee-et-ski).
“It tastes like… Spring Break,” said defenseman Mark Woods.
“That’s right,” said Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo Wino-wiecki.
The team needed the escape from the drudgery of bad weather and rough patch, settling for a second straight tie and a loss over the last three games. Sean McGrath scored late in the first period to give the team the lead. Cleveland answered back in the second with a goal from Evan Grimme.
His participation in the game came under fire when players questioned his eligibility. “He hasn’t hit puberty yet,” said Payeur, suggesting Grimme did not meet the minimum drinking age.
Chris Sutton scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal mid-way through the second period. However, Steamer
Robert Morikawa answered late int he second to tie it up, leaving Payeur in “a bad mood.”
Luckily for the team, they have Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo Wino-wiecki. And the Bud Light Lime he brought to the game.
A few cans later, the team felt confident that they could find a better beer… and maybe have the whole team attend a game or two. Playoffs… just saying.
