ANN ARBOR– Faced with a season-ending groin injury, Bob Brock was not on hand to help Aventinus as they suffered their second shut-out loss of the Summer season, falling to the Leafs 0-4 Sunday night.
“They had us coveredĀ all night,” said defenseman Mark Woods, speaking modestly. “And yet, they managed to expose our vulnerabilities.”
With only seven skaters, the Leafs still had more energy to snake through Aventinus’s defense, tempting fate time and again until the team allowed a power play goal.
Shame soon set in, and the team admitted to feeling a bit outcast. Forced to work the rest of the game, the team toiled in vain, unable to score a goal, despite several good chances.
Brock lamented the injury by clutching his groin and rolling around in agony. He later stated in a high-pitched voice that he hoped to be back on the ice soon.
