ANN ARBOR– In a replay of last Sunday’s match-up Bearshark! once again rolled up three goals on Ashley’s Hopslam to start the first period. However, Hopslam was not able to respond until the third period, down by four goals, eventually losing 2-5 Sunday night.
Described as something between a “Sharknado” and “Sharknado 2,” Bearshark! ripped through Hopslam’s defenses despite having only eight skaters in contrast to Hopslam’s 15 skaters. “We do better when we have fewer skaters,” noted Matt Schaefer.
Defenseman Mark Woods volunteered to be a healthy scratch for the game, but teammates quickly nixed the idea. “We need someone to blame for the loss,” said John Vella.
Anthony Schirripa scored two goals in the third period to ensure the victory, scoring five goals total against Hopslam in two games. However, some controversy has emerged in the last 24 hours, as it is being alleged that the so-called “Other Anthony” scored the hat trick in last week’s game. Schirripa declined to comment, but league officials are already concerned in what is being dubbed “Tony-Gate.”
Sean McGrath and Jeff Meden scored for Hopslam in the third, but could not will the team to victory.
