Ruination’s Seventeen Scene

REDFORD–Ashley’s Ruination kicked off the fall fashion season with a saucy 7-1 win over Mott Tuesday night. Jon Roklen returned with style, scoring the first goal and accessorizing it with a third period assist. “It’s good to be back,” admitted  fashion-forward defenseman Jason Spence, who also added an assist.

Oh slap! Seven ways to score! Plus, how to get through your third period!

Newcomers to the Seventeen scene include former Bangtown! players Autin Feeney and Tim Bredernitz, who combined for three assists, or “apples” as hip hop cultural specialist and defenseman Sean Payeur (who had an “apple” of his own) noted.

Dexter Benda traded his West Coast look for a Midwestern flair with his last second goal in the third to cap off the scoring. “I love his Atlanta Thrashers socks!” exclaimed defenseman Anthony Ciatti.

All the stars came out for a magical night, including Sean McGrath (goal), Shawn Lopez (goal), and Shaun Cassidy, who scored a No. 1 hit in 1977 with a cover of the Crystals’ “Da Doo Ron Ron.”

Not all were thrilled by the gala event. Forward John Vella, noted media critic, called GM Mark Woods’ homage to the teen scene magazine “too much” and threatened to boycott any future events so loaded down. “He makes a good point,” said Woods. “But, we all suffer for our art.”

Added Woods: “I can’t actually score on the ice, so I look for style points.”

With that, he put his neon star-shaped sunglasses on, tilted his silky fedora, and continued mixing with the so called “C League Glitterati.”
