Ben Johnson Edges Carl Lewis to Join Ruination

ANN ARBOR– According to the stat sheet, it seems former Canadian Olympic sprinter Ben Johnson has joined Ashley’s Ruination, edging out Carl Lewis’ bid to bring Olympic gold to the perennial C-league champions. Johnson, who was part of an illegal doping scandal during the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, was cleared to play in the 5-1 victory over the Yaks Saturday night. “I’m happy to sub for such a fine team,” said Johnson, who has never played hockey, but was allowed onto the team based purely on his Canadian citizenship.

The team was not united in welcoming Johnson. “We don’t any subs,” said forward John Vella, who finished with two goals.

Jordan Swift also had two goals, but had nothing negative to say about Johnson. Austin Feeney scored the first goal, though it is not entirely certain, as he shared the same number 0 as Tim Bredernitz and the recently added Johnson. “I think that was Austin,” said Matt Schaefer (assist) regarding the scoring. “Not for sure,” he added.

In fact, Bredernitz, Feeney, or Johnson had three assists, which will remain unclaimed for 90 days until one or all of them claim them. If they remain unclaimed, the assists will go to defenseman Mark Woods, who has 11,427 assists and 8 goals for his career.
