The chassis is a device that holds the blade to the boot, not a contraption worn by prurient maidens with mistrusting knight suitors in Gothic literature
ANN ARBOR– Following the 1-2 loss Wednesday night, several Aventinus players reportedly misunderstood comments made by defenseman Mark Woods when he noticed his skate chassis had broken. “My chassis broke,” he noted, looking at the shattered plastic piece that holds the blade to the boot.
Others obviously misheard the comment. “He wears what?” a player overhearing asked. “I didn’t realize he was so religious.”
“Or medieval,” added the player.
Scott Bray scored the lone goal in the loss, assisted by Mel Curran and Woods. The score came on a 5-on-3 power play with the team down by two goals. Aventinus tried to tie things up with a flurry of shots in the final minute of the game, but came up empty.
