ANN ARBOR– Warning teammates that he may miss the game, defenseman Sean Payeur made good on his promise to get “white girl wasted” Saturday night, missing out on a 11-0 Ruination win over Mott. “It’s seeming like it could be one of those days where alcohol is involved,” Payeur had warned.
The game started with quite a few missing players on both sides, as Ruination started with a largely Hopslam crew that dominated play for the entire game. Andrew Thompson was credited the first goal (though it was an unfortunate tap in from Mott’s Pete Lucas), and finished with two goals and two assists. Chris Sutton also had two goals and two assists.
Other Ruination members joined in as Sean McGrath finished with two goals, while Jason Spence had a goal and an assist. Austin Feeney, John Vella, Jordan Swift, and Matt Johnson also scored.
As players trickled in, Payeur was noticeably absent. “He did say he was planning to skip out,” said defenseman Mark Woods. Others, however, thought McGrath had claimed a forthcoming “girls night out.” That allegation was quickly dispelled upon McGrath’s arrival.
Teammates later found several Facebook posts showing Payeur in various states of regress, transforming from a rugged defenseman to “wasted” white girl, complete with party dress and friends holding alcoholic drinks while toasting the photographer, most likely another drunken girl with an iPhone.
An unnamed teammate hoped Payeur had the decency to bring a matching clutch purse and “sensible, yet sexy” pair of heels for stepping out onto the town.
