No Bowl Game for Hopslam

HOPSLAM– Wednesday night’s 2-3 loss to Sasquatch dropped the team to 13-6-3 for the season, and ensured that they, like the Michigan Wolverines, will not be going to a bowl game come January 1. “This loss really hurts,” said GM Mark Woods. “We were really hoping to be bowl eligible this season.”

Despite the loss, there were several bright spots, including Matt Okray’s two goals, and defenseman Mark Woods’s 2 assists. Hopslam showed a great deal of patience moving the puck on a 5-on-3 power play, as Nate Greenman controlled the puck, setting up multiple plays, though did not receive an assist for his efforts.

However, the selection committees for the various bowls did not consider Hopslam for several reasons: record, strength of schedule, and for not being a sanctioned NCAA football program. GM Woods called the reasoning “preposterous,” but also said the same thing about seasoned-fries.
