ANN ARBOR– The ghost of championships past swirled in the locker room upon seeing winger John Hwang’s championship softball t-shirt commemorating his team’s 2014 Summer campaign, following Aventinus’s 2-1 comeback win Wednesday night. “I won a softball championship playing Intramural at Michigan,” said defenseman Mark Woods.

“Guess what year?” added Woods.

Hwang admitted that he was more than a little afraid to ask, but upon asking, was amazed to discover the year was 1993.

“What’s truly amazing,” said Woods, “Is that the photos from that time period look like there’s some sort of sepia filter you might find on your average smart phone. But that’s the way it really looked back then.”

Woods then opened a scrap book filled with pictures from his time as a late turn of the century athlete.

Jeff Price and Les Withrow scored third period goals to secure the win for Ashley’s bringing the team to within a game of .500 coming into the final regular season game. Ginny Klinesteker, Jen Perry, and Daryl Coleman received assists, and Ken Coleman received praise for bringing beer despite being placed on the injured list.

Woods called the experience a “moste pleasante constitutional across Mem’ry’s lane.”
