LAS VEGAS– Goaltender Chris Sutton was dealt back to Aventinus after a blockbuster trade involving two future D2 picks, and a puck-shaped beer cooler after officials for the Las Vegas Ramblin’ Gamblers of the Booking & Hooking League (BHL) said Sutton “never so much as suited up” during his short tenure in Nevada. News of this comes as a bit of a controversy following Matt Okray’s stellar performance Sunday night in Aventinus’s 6-2 win over the Goaldiggers.

“We’re a little surprised to hear that Chris (Sutton) chose to spend his time at the casino rather than the practice facility,” said GM Mark Woods, who heard the news late Monday evening. “It’s almost as if he was on some sort of vacation for the week.”

In fact, sources confirm that Sutton not only refused to step onto the ice, but made the point not to even bring his goalie gear to Nevada upon receiving news of the trade. “We had no choice but to nullify the deal,” Ramblin Gamblers’ GM Gowon N. Gambol.

Sutton’s agent Jerry M. Aguirre released the following statement: “Chris is happy to be back home in Michigan among family and friends, and despite the losses, both at the gaming tables and at the negotiation tables, he is looking forward to playing goal for Ashley’s Aventinus in the inexplicable round robin playoff structure.”

John Hwang scored two, while Daryl Coleman, Ginny Klinesteker, Tom Colis, and Kenny Schmidt each added goals in the win Sunday, bringing Aventinus to 8-8-1 for the season.
