The event took place at DTE Energy Music Theater, during the second opening act for the Barenaked Ladies, featuring the Violent Femmes. Klinesteker and GM Mark Woods were reportedly walking to a refreshment stand when sources say Lamb spotted the two.

“The guy (Lamb) shook the other guy’s hand (GM Mark Woods), and that went smoothly enough,” said Rufus T. Porter, one of the many witnesses to the transaction. “But then, he turned to the girl and…”

Porter described it as a “series of spasms” that resembled someone going in for a handshake, then a hug, then retracting back to a handshake only to decide maybe a hug is more appropriate.

“They was both doing that,” added Porter. “Kinda looked like one of them there multiple grip handshakes pro football players do after a touchdown.”

Sources say Lamb and Klinesteker settled on a handshake.

Calling the action “unconscionable,” Woods immediately suspended both players for Sunday’s game. “We don’t need that kind of fraternization in our organization,” stated Woods flatly.
