Ballad of Six-Gun Sutton in Stag Shoot-out Sung

ANN ARBOR–It’s not often that legends are made and from Wild West shootouts between outlaws and lawmen, but history records an incident taking place in a Midwest town known by the residents as Depot Town, where a roving band of brigands known as the Stag Party (led by brothers Kyle and Ben Stagg) terrorized the small town that served as a stop along the way to Chicago in the mid to late 1800s.

After several failed attempts to rid the town of the outlaws, nothing less than a shootout took place in a small corral simply called “The Stadium.”

After several shots from either side, Sheriff Chris “Six-Gun” Sutton was able to make good the final shot, defeating the Stags and preserving a win for the lawmen affectionately titled “Ruination.”

Archived records found recently revealed a ballad to Sutton and his extraordinary work bringing peace and law back to the region:

Come and listen to mah story ’bout a man named Chris
Pretty sure he’s not of Jewish origin but if he was, he’d have had a bris,
Then one day he was a skatin’ and a shootin’ around
the disappointed goalie for the ol’ Depot Town…
Stags, that is. Hockey team, like the Dallas Stars.

Next thing you know ol’ Ruination won.
Folks said, “Chris, yer a real sonofa six gun”
Said, “In the finals is where you oughta be!”
So, he loaded up his hockey bag, and went to the C-League…
Finals, that is. With Ruination, Though still eligible for D1.
