ANN ARBOR– Samsonite has entered the sporting apparel arena, introducing its new line of hockey bags Saturday. “We’re currently test marketing them in Michigan with some tremendous results,” beamed Samuel Samsonson III, President and CEO of Samsonite.

The new line of “Puck” bags includes “large, roomy, no-frills interior compartment, with a few mesh zip pockets and a wetpack pocket,” according to the company’s website. “Perfect for storing your jersey and Under Armour garments,” noted Samsonson.

Included are wheels and handles, while not in style among younger players, “proves perfect for the amply sized gentleman skater who has beer and a host of family problems to carry,” added Samsonson.

Ruination’s winger Nick Cardamone was the first to test the new bag Saturday. Following Ruination’s 5-4 win over the Ypsi Bombers, Cardamone raved about the roominess and convenience, including the ease of packing and leaving. “He got packed up so fast, he practically flew out of here,” said GM Mark Woods. “I think he left his shoes behind.”

TSA agents promised to look into the matter.
