Ruination Slice Through Pizza

Ashley’s Ruination (4-2-1) ordered a win to go as they got a much-“kneaded” victory over Thompson’s Pizza Saturday night. Steve Pouliot had a goal and an assist, leading the team with 9 points for the season. Paul Sholtis leads the team with 5 assists after making a nice pass to a streaking John Vella, who set the tone for the game with a goal in the first minute of play.

Defenseman Josh Pohlman knocked in his first goal and got the game winner after the puck bounced around between legs late in the second period. “I can’t believe they didn’t give me an assist, ” said Pouliot after the game.

Defenseman Jason Spence, who missed Saturday’s game, apologized to fans and teammates, saying, “I let my teammates down tonight.” But he has remained adamant over alleged contract negotiations. Simply put, Spence said, “I need an administrative assistant.” His agent could not be reached for comment.

The stadium was positively electric, as fans came to watch some great hockey. “There are some hot women upstairs,” a player was overheard saying in reference to the fans. Those fans were treated to an excellent game as the USA Under 17 team faced Dubuque on Stadium ice.
