Ashley’s Hopslam (4-6-2) overcame an early 0-2 deficit to beat the Ice-o-topes 5-4 Saturday night at Varsity Rink. Jeff Price completed the comeback with a late goal in the third period. “We really picked it up in the third,” said Price.
“Or else they just really slowed down,” he added.
Price’s goal was his first of the season in addition to being the game winner. “I’m ready to play!” he exclaimed to GM Mark Woods, in reference to the Ruination game scheduled later that evening.
“We’re all set,” said Woods to an obviously crestfallen Price. “But, let’s all head to Ashley’s Pub, eh?”
Price opted not to attend.
