Spending Cuts Ruin Nation?

Ashley’s Ruination (9-5-1) hope to erase a two-game skid when the face Mott (7-8) Saturday night at Olympic Ice. Unfortunately, it will not be an easy task, as there are several scratches, including Jason Spence, Sean McGrath, Josh Pohlmann, Nate Greenman, and Devin Collingridge.

“Other guys are just going to have to step up,” said GM Mark Woods. “I’d like to see some more scoring, especially from (Mark) Woods. He’s due for his one goal for the season.”

The game is particularly important, as Ashley’s is now tied with Goon Squad in points (19) in their division. Goon Squad, however, has the tiebreaker with 94 goals scored to Ruination’s 57 goals.

When asked about the deficit, Woods mentioned the possibility of raising the “goal ceiling.” Woods also warned that sequestration could include furloughed hockey players, explaining why so many skaters will be missing in action Saturday.
