Cricket Chorus from Goon Bench

Ashley’s Ruination (3-4) dropped a close game Tuesday night, falling 1-2 to Goon Squad, but sent a message that generated indignation.

“What a douche bag,” someone from the G-Squad bench proclaimed.

The incident prompting the response included a collision with Goon-tender Jon Ameel late in the third period, as Ruination tried to tie the game up.

“Whenever I see body colliding, I know Spence is involved,” said forward Sean McGrath.

Defenseman Jason Spence rushed into the play, attempting to poke the puck into the net, colliding with Ameel, who roared in pain. The bench erupted in anger over the play, but quickly calmed down.

“Did someone say something?” asked a defiant Spence.

There was no response.

“I looked over at the bench, and all I heard were crickets,” noted Spence.

Ruination spent the post-game period discussing old cartoons relatively few people have ever seen, particularly those of the Millennial Generation.
