Ops Distracted, Wanted to Keep Watching Star Wars

Ashley’s Ruination (4-4) fell behind early in the first period before coming back to beat Black Ops 4-2 Saturday night on Stadium Ice. Winger Sean McGrath entered the game, making an immediate impact, scoring on a power play goal. McGrath would later add the game winner in the second.

Forward Steve Pouliot, who was also a bit late to the game, said, “All I know is after I came into the game, we started scoring.”

Joel Benton pitched in on defense, but remained offensive, scoring a goal and an assist. Brett Vogel had his team leading seventh assist, and Devin Collingridge scored the insurance goal mid-way through the 3rd period.

“They must have been missing some guys,” said Collingridge.

In fact, several players were missing. It was later discovered that Saturday was officially “Star Wars” Day, and almost certainly key players for Black Ops could be found in basements watching Star Wars marathons and tweeting “May the 4th be with you.”

Though not confirmed, it has been rumored that following the Star Wars marathon, team members will, like, totally watch the Lord of the Rings series late into the night.
