Full House Hopslam Get Two Pair

Ashley’s Hopslam (7-3) won its fourth straight game, defeating a frustrated Depot Town Stags 4-0 Tuesday. Wingers Matt Schaefer and Mike Leighton each scored two goals, while Shawn Lopez gathered three assists, leading the team with ten for the season.

“We took it it to them early,” said Tom Colis. Indeed, Schaefer scored within the first minute of play, followed by Leighton’s goal just six minutes later.

“It helps being up on them early,” said Schaefer, who added a short-handed goal in the second.

Netminder Ricky Winowiecki, former drummer of Jesse and the Rippers, earned the team’s first shutout. Winowiecki congratulated teammates, noting this feeling is something one keeps “forever,” thanks to You Tube.

Game highlights, courtesy of the Depot Town Stag Nation Channel, however, were noticeably absent.

Stag twins Tommy “Mary-Kate” Selter and Kyle “Ashley” Selter were not amused. “Listen here, Bucko,” lisped one of them to a cooing audience.

“We have a great team,” said GM Mark Woods. “Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there’s a heart, there’s a hand.”
