RUINATION– Ashley’s Ruination pushed its record to 10-0-1 Tuesday with a 6-2 win over Thompson’s Pizza. Ricky Winowiecki, Tim Bredernitz, and Jordan Swift each had two goals for the game: impress the ladies, and never let them see you sweat. Lawyers for the Ashley’s team have stated their goal is to avoid a lawsuit over the use of the slogan trademarked by the Gillette Company in 1984.
HOPSLAM– Notching a big 3-1 win over former C-league team, the Cleveland Steamers, the team expressed less enthusiasm over the prospect of facing their next opponent, the Boston Pancakes, noting that the stretch of games was “crappy.” Peter Girz, Chris Sutton, and Bob Brock each scored in the win.
AVENTINUS– Ashley’s Aventinus started their Thursday morning with a 1-1 tie as their battle with the Goal Diggers ran late into the night. GM Mark Woods, noticeably absent, stated that he had worried about the outcome of the game “all night,” and that he “barely managed to get eight full hours of sleep” because of his concern over the match-up. Justin Baier ensured the tie, scoring late in the third period.
