Moustaches Twirled All Weekend

Vella delighted over having only eight skaters, noting everything is going “according to plan”

RUINATION– Calling the performance “uninspired,” Austin Feeney finished with a goal and assist while fellow teammate Tim Bredernitz dropped in three goals and an assist as Ashley’s Ruination beat the Depot Town Stags 6-1 Saturday night.

Despite the win, Sean Payeur (two assists) openly questioned management’s coordination efforts, as only eight players dressed for the game. “(Defenseman Mark Woods) should have played,” he insisted, later admitting that bringing Woods in would have resulted in a closer game.

Forward John Vella stated he had absolutely no complaints about the roster size Saturday.

HOPSLAM– Hopslam’s six-game unbeaten streak ended as the team in red fell to Tope Solo 1-3 Saturday night. The game was marred in the third period when an unnamed Tope Solo player threatened referee Hank Panky, stating his plans to “find him and his wife in the parking lot” and “kill them.”

When asked about the incident, the player said he was misunderstood. “When I said ‘wife,’ I meant the other referee, and by ‘kill’ I merely meant to hospitalize, where he would perhaps die of complications, which wouldn’t be on me.” He referred to the officials’ so-called misrepresentation of his comments as “typical.”

Panky noted that the threat was essentially empty, as he (Panky) has “been dead inside for years, thanks to (his) wife.”

League Director Abe Colwell says he still will plan to ban the skater, also stating that he’d better not see any “damsels tied to any train track or some such.”

Joe DeRose scored Hopslam’s lone goal.

AVENTINUS– Chris Sutton finished with his eighth 1-goal game this season as Aventinus beat Mott FK 7-1 Sunday night. Scott Bray had two goals and three assists, while David Gaydos finished with three goals and an assist. Nick Lamb also added a goal and two assists.

Sutton, however, openly wondered who keeps mentioning the word “shutout” in each of the eight games, effectively jinxing him. Sources suspect teammate and back-up goalie Jinxy McSezshutout.

McSezshutout denied the allegations, saying there was “absolutely no way (he) could possibly make any such comments.”
